Snap Lock Standing Seam with Striations is a 24-gauge Grade 50 Galvalume hidden-fastener metal roofing panel. Its snap-lock clip system allows panels to float independently, absorbing thermal expansion without stressing the fasteners — making it the preferred profile for panel runs longer than 16 feet. The raised striations along the panel face control oil canning caused by temperature-driven expansion and contraction. Kynar paint is used in place of standard WeatherXL because standing seam's sharper bends require a more flexible paint formulation.

Snap Lock Standing Seam with Striations is our premium standing seam profile. Every panel ships with striations — tiny press-formed ribs along the panel face that significantly reduce oil canning (it's the only way we build this panel, so you'll never get a non-striated snap lock from us). The panels fasten with a concealed hidden clip system rather than a nail flange, letting the panel move freely with temperature changes without putting pressure on it — making this the recommended choice for longer panel runs.
What this panel actually looks like in cross-section — including how it's fastened.

Both panels snap together at a tall concealed seam. A hidden clip anchors the seam to the deck from underneath, so no fasteners show on the roof surface. Striations — the fine press-formed lines along the panel face — control oil canning on long runs.
This exact color palette is shared by both Snap Lock Standing Seam and Standing Seam with Nail Flange.
The Snap Lock color palette and trim line are identical for both Snap Lock Standing Seam and Standing Seam with Nail Flange. Free metal samples available for 100% color matching.
Every trim piece is fabricated to your exact specifications in matching panel colors — not a generic off-the-shelf approximation. This trim line is shared by both standing seam profiles.
Snap Lock Standing Seam with Striations is 24-gauge Grade 50 Galvalume. The softer Grade 50 steel is intentional — standing seam requires tighter forming bends, and Grade 50 has the ductility to form cleanly without cracking. Grade 80 (used in Tuff Rib Ag and PBR) would crack at those bend radii.
Always with striations — there is no non-striated option for this profile. The fine press-formed lines along the panel face control oil canning caused by thermal expansion and contraction on longer panel runs.
Each panel covers 16 inches of width. One linear foot of Snap Lock Standing Seam equals 1.33 square feet of coverage — significantly less per panel than the 36-inch Tuff Rib Ag or PBR profiles.
The manufacturer recommends 1/2" or 5/8" plywood sheathing. An acceptable alternative is purlins at 16" on center with 24-gauge panels. The continuous support is needed because standing seam clips anchor into the deck beneath each seam.
Both are 24-gauge Grade 50 Galvalume hidden-fastener profiles with the same colors and trim. The difference is the fastening system: Snap Lock uses a hidden clip that lets panels float independently to handle thermal movement, making it ideal for runs over 16 feet. Nail Flange uses an exposed flange fastened to the deck and is best for runs up to 16 feet.
A 40-year Kynar paint warranty and a 25-year Red Dot Galvalume metal warranty. Standing seam uses Kynar paint — a more flexible formulation than WeatherXL — because the sharper bends of the profile require a paint system that can move with the panel without cracking.
